a little cottage, a lot of thread, and a love story with a needle and floss
I've been cross stitching for as long as I can really remember — long enough that I've lost count of the kits, the patterns, the quiet afternoons spent hunched over a hoop with the light fading outside. What started as something casual slowly became a part of who I am. There's a kind of magic in it that never wore off for me: needle up, needle down, one tiny X at a time, watching blank fabric slowly turn into something real, something mine. One kit turned into ten. Ten turned into a closet stuffed with more floss than any reasonable person should own. And eventually, that closet became a whole room of its own — my studio, tucked into the little cottage I call home here in Pennsylvania, where somewhere among all that thread, StitchFetti was quietly born.
But here's the thing that almost stole the magic from me, after all those years of loving this craft: I adored the making. I never loved what came after. I'd pour weeks into a piece, finish it with so much pride, and then watch it just... sit there. Waiting for a frame I never got around to buying, or a custom framing order that took forever and cost more than I wanted to spend. Somewhere along the way, finishing a piece stopped feeling like a celebration and started feeling like an unfinished thought — a beautiful thing left hanging, quite literally, in limbo. It took the magic out of something that used to feel like magic every single time.
So I started making my own frames. Frames with the stitching space built right in, so the second you tie off your last knot, the piece is already framed — already whole, already ready to be seen. No waiting. No drawer. No losing that spark right when you should be celebrating. Just stitch, tie off, hang it up, and feel that magic all over again the moment you finish.
That idea became ✕ StitchFetti✕
These days, my studio is a small, sunlit corner of my cottage, usually smelling like coffee and looking a little bit like a craft explosion — half-finished paintings leaning against the wall, fabric scraps tucked in every drawer, a planner nearby that's more sticky notes than actual paper. I'm not a "one hobby" kind of person, and honestly, I don't think most stitchers are either. We're the people who need our hands busy and our minds quiet. We're the ones who find peace in slow, deliberate things in a world that rarely slows down for anyone.
If you're anything like me, cross stitch was never just a hobby. It's the thing you turn to when your brain won't stop running. It's the gift you make for someone you love, knowing they'll feel how much time and care went into it. It's quiet proof, one stitch at a time, that beautiful things are built slowly — not rushed, not instant, just steady and intentional and yours.
I started this shop because I wanted that feeling — the one I lost somewhere between finishing a piece and never quite framing it — to feel complete again. Not just stitched. Finished. Framed. Ready to be loved, seen, and hung somewhere you'll catch it every single day and smile.
So however you found your way here — whether you've been stitching for twenty years or you just bought your very first kit on a whim — welcome. Grab your coffee (or let it go cold, we don't judge), thread your needle, and let's make something worth framing.
Together.
